Pastor Marshal Frisque was born in Rockford, Illinois, baptized at First Lutheran Church in Janesville, Wisconsin, and raised primarily in Milton, Wisconsin. Growing up in a lively family of five children, he enjoyed sports, the outdoors, and spending time with friends and neighbors. Blessed with faithful Christian parents, Lutheran school teachers, and pastors, Marshal began expressing his desire to become a pastor at just eight years old.
He graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2011 with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Missions. After working in marketing and social media at Concordia and later at Lutheran Church Charities, he attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, graduating in 2018. His vicarage at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Illinois, helped deepen his love for the historic liturgy, the Sacraments, and teaching the rich truths of the Lutheran faith. He received his first pastoral call to St. John Lutheran Church in Fredonia, Wisconsin, before being installed at Peace in August 2025.
Pastor Frisque considers his family among God's greatest gifts. He and his wife, Kolyssa, are blessed with six children: Cadence, Felicity, Malachi, Boaz, Thea, and Esme. Together, they enjoy music, kitchen dance parties, baseball games, and the beautiful chaos of family life. He also enjoys the outdoors, disaster response ministry, and a good conversation.
At the heart of Pastor Frisque's ministry is the joy of bringing Christ and His gifts to God's people through His Word and Sacraments. He loves teaching, building meaningful relationships, and walking alongside people through life's joys and challenges. His approach to ministry is Christ-centered, reverent, and outward-focused, firmly rooted in the Lutheran Confessions while connecting the timeless promises of God's Word to everyday life. He delights in welcoming others into the family of faith and sharing the beautiful truth of what Jesus Christ has done—and continues to do—for us.
